Founded in 2013, Exodus Plastics, LLC specializes in crafting high-quality PVC darkroom products, but our story begins long before that. In 1999, I was a commercial carpenter, focused on installing scientific casework. It was during a project involving darkroom enlarger stations that I discovered the potential of PVC plastic for darkroom sinks. After a conversation with the owner of Sebastian Darkroom Products, I seized the opportunity to create my very first darkroom sink for his company, building on my previous experience working with my father’s business and other installation companies.

What truly inspires me is witnessing the moment when users step into their new darkroom and see our sinks for the first time. Their reactions often include, “I had no idea it would look this beautiful!” It’s incredibly rewarding to see fine arts faculty at high schools, colleges, and universities express their excitement about the custom sinks I’ve designed and installed.

Among my proudest achievements is our innovative downdraft sink. This remarkable piece of equipment not only enhances the aesthetic of any darkroom but also significantly improves safety. I vividly recall an installation where a container of lacquer thinner was accidentally spilled. Thanks to the downdraft feature, the harmful fumes were completely extracted from the room, proving that our sinks are not just functional, but vital for creating a safe environment for students and artists alike.
